updates on Penicuik Arts Festival 2011 preparations

3rd – 11th September 2011
An invitation to you to join in
bringing our creative people and communities together
a welcoming word from the Festival Organisers:
Dear friend and colleague
We are organising a Penicuik & District Arts Festival (PDAF), to be held from 3rd – 11th September 2011. Based on the theme of ‘Coming Together’ we hope to hold eight days of activities and events celebrating our arts, culture and history, offering something for everyone.
We would like to invite you to contribute to this festival in whichever way is possible for you: by listing an event or an activity you are planning to do anyway during these 8 days, or by putting on an event especially for the ‘Coming Together’ days.
The Programme is currently developing very well, taking inspiration from the very successful 3Harbours Festival in East Lothian which Andrew Crummy has organised for the last 6 years. We are very pleased that Andrew has agreed to open our ‘Coming Together’ festival at the Opening bash the 3rd of September and that he will be our Penicuik Turner Prize Judge for 2011.
Please pass this information and invitation on to anyone you feel maybe interested.  Event registration ends on Friday 22nd July, Visual Art & Venue registration ends on Monday 25th July.
