Beading success

Once again Toni's great patience and the skills his girls could demonstrate with this lovely and of course very fiddly stringing and knotting tiny beads and fine threads together made this Saturday crafting in the community session a great wee change from our usual felting mania.

Beading is a wonderful way - one that follows ancient and modern traditions alike -  to keep our kids' growing fingers nimble. Nimble fingers will save the world, you know - as always!

For more pics - see on https://picasaweb.google.com/the.weaver.here/JuneJulyJustFlyBy# go to pic# 88 and onward for the next 8 pics . Cheers! And: remember you can leave comments under every picture. 8-)

Story Scape circlings

Today, after a re-telling of little Red Riding hood with Anneruth and Gabrielle, Ramona got everybody cirlcing down on the ground round the seascapes, recapturing and new-capturing the character for Puff the Magic Dragon.

It was one of the most exciting sessions I found, because there was a real story telling community developing amongst the kids, aptly guided by Ramona from known plots through to new plots emerging with brilliant imagination and mime.

It does need a wee film made out of the footage we gathered here from pic #58 onward..
here a wee teaser  ....

Summer Sizzling

wet felting flowers for brooches
And here are Marie and her girls once more before they are going back to Canada. We will miss them and their creative input of sharing their craft skills and experience and their story enthusiasm. Please stay in touch!

Today was mega busy once again. It seems we are being missed when we are not there in townhall, and it is good to be busy again, with also enough volunteer tutors to give everyone the best attention.
which summer sizzlers can we felt today?
Both the stage and the ground floor were taken, for dry and wet felting respectively, such as this

and this

Why not see more of the summer felt actions and outcomes here, picture # 33 to # 57 on our June album:

New Song for a Wedding Party at Story Scape Hour

All sit poised as Ramona, accompanied nicely by Ashley on the recorder, gets us ready for yet another boat trip: to the wedding of the Owl and the Pussy cat.

Then the pea green boat, guided ably by Holly, sways over the rearranged sea scape
guess who  made pea green boat and curly-tail-nose-ring (the piggy)?
to land there where the Bong Tree grows, near the piggy with the ring in his nose
which (the piggy) was also in high demand in the interactive story creating bit:

which was about getting the wedding gifts and party organised and staged,

and defended against gate crushing intruders
and - needless to say - rescued - this time by a brave penguin!

Phew, what adventures!

Oh, and now it is already time to pack up and go  home again -

But not before everybody was nicely dreaming again listening to Anneruth telling the said beautiful birthday-time-story of "Little Angel".

See you in two weeks?
